So, Wimbledon 2013 is proving to be the most injury-hit year in the entire competition’s history with no fewer than 7 players forced to pull out of the tournament in the first week!

Sadly amongst these players are Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, a great player and a favourite with the crowds.  Also, Steve Darcis, whose famously knocked Rafael Nadal out of the championship, pulled out with a shoulder problem. Marin Cilic and John Isner retired with knee injuries.  A left hamstring problem also ended Radek Stepanek’s campaign.

Yaroslava Shvedova then also withdrew ahead of her second-round match with Petra Kvitova, with an injury to her right arm.

Not only that, but with Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt knocked out in the 1st and 2nd rounds, the talk is…….could this now be Andy Murray’s year!?

Andy will face the number 32 seed, Tommy Robredo in the 3rd Round.  Robredo appears to be taking a calm and relaxed attitude to his meeting with Murray.  Robredo says “Now I prefer to enjoy, to relax, to go have a great dinner because I deserve it, with a chocolate cake with ice cream,”  Quite a character and we’re sure it’s going to be a great match to watch!

Wimbledon never fails to excite, shock and please the crowds – it is certainly the main tournament in the tennis calendar.

 Templeton Place Apartments are located on Templeton Place, minutes from Earls Court Exhibition Centre.  These excellent, contemporary, well priced studios are perfect for stays of one week or more.  Fewer nights can be arranged subject to availability.  In our opinion these apartments are much more cost effective than a stay in a local hotel room in the area.  There are also one-bedroom apartments available if required and a two-bedroom apartment also.

51 Kensington Court Apartments are located on Kensington Court, just off High Street Kensington.  These are closer to Olympia.  If you are looking for a Kensington located, these apartments are the perfect solution offering good, comfortable and spacious accommodation.  Apartments range from studios to a three-bedroom, so there is an apartment to suit every requirement.  Again, if several people are sharing the apartment, this is much more cost effective than several hotel rooms in the area.
